Frequently Asked Questions for Job Seekers

What is Travellers At Work?

Travellers At Work (TAW) is a specialist recruitment service for working holidaymakers in Australia. Members receive online access to thousands of job offers all over Australia and they receive email notifications of new jobs as soon as they become available.

What work is available?

Jobs are available nationwide in a variety of industries including: Office Work, Farm Work, Au-Pair, Sales & Promotions, Factory Work, Retail, Trades & Labour. All jobs can be viewed online, but you need a TAW Membership to apply for jobs.

How do I apply for jobs?

Once your TAW membership has been activated you can create an online CV / Resume at www.taw.com.au. Once complete, you can apply for any of the positions on the TAW site. The employer will receive an email with your cover letter / message and your online CV.

Am I guaranteed a job?

No, the employer will always make the final decision on who to employ, so you must ensure your cover letter and CV are great. Read our useful tips on how to Write a Great CV and Writing Cover Letters or visit TAW to speak with a recruitment expert.

How long can it take to get a job?

It’s impossible to say. Jobs are competitive and there are lots of travellers looking for work. However, lots of jobs are available and if you have decent English, a great CV and relevant experience you should find something relatively soon.

The key to getting a job fast is having the right attitude – it is much more important than your education or experience. In your application you must convince the employer that you’re a hard-working and happy person who is eager to start work straight away and will stay until the job is done. (Most jobs last for 1-6 months, so you will have to consider staying on one location for a while).

How does TAW differ from other free job sites?

TAW is a specialist recruitment company just for working holidaymakers. TAW’s Job Resourcers are constantly speaking with employers across the country and sourcing new jobs for their members which are posted on the TAW website.

  • TAW recruitment specialists are available to check CVs and cover letters and provide guidance and advice during the process of finding work.
  • Unlike some sites all TAW jobs are for travellers. If you apply for jobs on Seek you’ll notice the employers all want Aussies.
  • TAW speaks with all Employers before listing jobs on the site, to help ensure they are legitimate and the employers are offering sufficient pay and decent working conditions.
  • TAW jobs are unique. All jobs are sourced direct from the employer and not poached from other job sites.
