How does TAW work? TAW is a Job Club for travellers. We provide exclusive employment opportunities for our members. Our aim is to keep our members in employment for the duration of their stay as they travel around Australia.
Do I have to be a member to use TAW? No – You are more than welcome to use TAW without becoming a member. You will notice that around 50% of the jobs on the TAW Jobs Board list the employers details. You can apply for these positions without becoming a member.
Why should I become a Member? When you become a TAW Member you are assigned a consultant who will actively find you work opportunities. You can arrange to sit down and chat with a consultant in any of our 4 locations – Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns or Adelaide TAW Members are sent exclusive work opportunities that are not available to everyone.
Do all members get work when they join? TAW has been providing jobs to Travellers for over 10 years and we have thousands of employers all over Australia who use our service exclusively to find staff. We provide members with the best possible chance of staying in employment while traveling in Australia.
What wage can I expect to earn? The wages that you will earn will depend mainly on the work you undertake and your skills and experience. An average wage in Australia for general work like office support or barwork would be around $18 - $20 per hour.
What Tax will I pay in Australia? As a Traveller on a Working Holiday Visa or Student Visa you are required to pay Tax at a rate of 29%. You may in many cases be entitled to clam much of this tax back. As a member of TAW you will receive a consultation with one of our Tax Experts to claim your tax refund.
Do you provide jobs all over Australia? YES - TAW is a national service with work all over Australia. When you join you will be asked to indicate where you are looking for work and you will only get sent jobs from that particular area.
How long can I work for? If you are on a Working Holiday Visa you can work for an Employer for up to 6 months. If you are on a Student Visa you can work for an Employer for as long as you wish however only for 20 hours a week.
