Skills Appraisal:

You are being assessed by trainers from day one. They assess skills acquired prior to the course, newly learnt skills, attitude to work and work ethic. Our farm familiarisation course is enjoyable and an experience which will never be forgotten - but its not just a holiday. It is possible to fail the course. Though failure is rare, it is usually due to the lack of work ethic, poor attitude towards work, lack of interest, inability to accept instructions, and lack of understanding of English. If one fails the course, work will not be offered.

Prior knowledge and experience is not necessary as the range of positions available covers all skill levels. Skills will be matched with the skill required by the employer.

Job offer after the Course:

A job offer is a part of the package. We have vast array of jobs on offer, with a database of over 1000 employers around Australia. We cater to your skills and experience. Examples of jobs, but not limited to:

  • General farm hand
  • Mustering on horseback
  • Cooks and nannies on stock camps
  • Working with polo cross horses
  • Working at horse studs
  • Cotton harvesting
  • Tractor driving
Generally work is sourced for the following week after the course. As a part of the package travel is booked on your behalf and a detailed itinerary is prepared. Travel expenses departing the farm are not part of the package. It’s recommended to have at least $500 to cover travel expenses from the farm to your new job.

The duration of the job will be discussed at first contact with the employer. You will be given an approximate length of the job, but the employer may want to lengthen your stay if everything is going well. If you decline a job offer, we will endeavour to provide a subsequent offer, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Due to a condition of the working holiday visa, you cannot stay with the same employer more than 6-months. After 6 months you will need to move on to another employer or go travelling. Remember, as a paid employee you can be fired for poor performance / timekeeping / attendance / attitude, so work hard and do a great job!
